Alpha-Lite has been designed for optimal hospital phototherapy of jaundiced

newborns. This exceptionally effective unit is specially designed for infants

with rapidly rising and severe jaundice, although treatment time is also reduced

for even moderately affected babies. Three hundred-sixty degrees of surrounding

light located above, on the sides and underneath the baby, bathes the infant's skin

with special blue light in the effective treatment range. Skin surface being treated

is also increased through the use of a transparent bassinet and mattress, and light

translucent chuck. The Alpha-Lite provides:

Improved control of rapidly rising bilirubin.

Reduction in treatment time due to the unique arrangement

of the lights.

Reduction in treatment cost due to earlier discharge of infant

and possibly mother.

Possible avoidance of exchange transfusion in some infants

(reduction of risk).
